Program Overview
The Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) Virtual Cycling Day was held over two days as part of the school’s Founders’ Day celebrations, bringing together more than 300 Upper Secondary students to experience esports cycling in a fun and competitive environment.
Students competed on indoor trainers connected to a virtual racing platform, allowing them to race head-to-head in short, high-intensity formats designed to be both accessible and exciting. The event introduced many students to esports cycling for the first time while demonstrating how technology can transform traditional endurance sports into an engaging school activity.
Through a mix of competitive races and open participation, the programme provided students with an opportunity to test their fitness, experience race dynamics, and enjoy a new form of sport that blends cycling, gaming, and community participation.
